Founded in 1978 by South Yarmouth resident, Jan Butler, the Yarmouth Seaside Festival is held annually on Columbus Day weekend. Now a grand event, Yarmouth Seaside Festival boasts a craft fair of more than 125 crafters from all over the country, a grand parade, live musical entertainment, fun filled children’s events, kayak and canoe race, 5K road race, greased pole contests, pie-eating contests, a colorful fireworks display, and more! Celebrate the season October 11th through the 13th with the lovely people of Yarmouth, Cape Cod in the fall.
Do you enjoy scrumptious cuisine, live music, arts and crafts, or shucking contest? Well then, the Wellfest Oyster Fest is just what you are looking for! Taking place the weekend after Columbus Day, the 14th Annual Wellfleet OysterFest will be held in the charming town of Wellfleet, Cape Cod. This two-day family festival celebrates the town’s famous oysters, clams and shell fishing traditions. With local cuisine, arts and crafts, cooking demonstrations, children’s activities, walking tours, live music, a road race, and the annual Oyster Shuck-Off competition, there is something for everyone! The Wellfest Oyster Fest is one for the best events on Cape Cod in the fall!
The 37th Annual Cape Cod Marathon is a one-loop course that begins and ends at the Village Green in Falmouth. While the first part is easy, the latter is a test of your endurance. Delight over the season’s colors while you enjoy a run through the quaint town of Falmouth and the surrounding areas! If a marathon is a little too daring for you, try the half marathon.
