Here Are 3 Cape Cod Gardens You Need to Visit
Heritage Museum and Gardens
One of our favorite Cape Cod Gardens can be found at the Heritage Museum and Gardens. Located in the town of Sandwich, this lovely spot is ideal for an afternoon walk. There, you’ll find more than 100 acres of gardens along the banks of Shawme Pond, including a large variety of plants and colorful flowers. Indeed, it’s considered to be New England’s largest garden! If you want to pop inside for some shade, you’ll be delighted to see a vast collection of vintage cars and historical artifacts! The museum and gardens are open from April to October between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Make sure you check out the Spohr Gardens as well! These sumptuous gardens cover 6 acres in the town of Falmouth. Get ready to see beautiful daffodils, rhododendrons, azaleas, lilies, and many more varieties! There’s even a pond where you can sit and enjoy the view! The gardens are open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and there are no admission fees. However, donations are strongly encouraged!
Green Briar Nature Center
Another favorite Cape Cod garden of ours is the Green Briar Nature Center. If you find yourself visiting the Heritage Museum and Gardens in Sandwich, you can easily fit this one into the same day. Green Briar Nature Center is a fabulous natural history museum that features gorgeous nature trails, lush gardens, and even a pond with swans. Did you know they also have a shop where you can buy delicious, homemade jams? They make lovely gifts to take back home with you.
