Discover Our Favorite Things to Do During Spring on Cape Cod
Cape Cod’s National Seashore
One of the main reasons why spring is so exciting on Cape Cod is because the cold weather wears off and you can start getting outside a lot! It’s no secret that Cape Cod is one of the most beautiful places in America, and when the first rays of sun appear, you can put on a warm jacket and explore the stunning National Seashore. It’s only a 30-minute drive from Chatham Gables Inn and makes a great daytime activity. Walk on the miles of beach as you gaze into the blue horizon and remember to bring your camera!
Note: Do you want to go on more hikes while you’re here? There are amazing trails located all over Cape Cod, and some can be for short walks while others can be for long walks. It all depends on what you want to do. One thing you will get on these walks is a great view of our beaches, marshes, and forests.
Heritage Museums and Gardens
Another reason why visiting Cape Cod in the spring is a fabulous idea is that all the flowers are in bloom! Did you know, for example, that we have some of the most gorgeous gardens here? There’s nothing like taking a stroll with the one you love and seeing all of the plants blooming. One fantastic place to see a Cape Cod spring garden is at the Heritage Museums and Gardens. The gardens have splendid lawns, endless rows of flowers, and lots of different types of trees and shrubs for you to admire. The museum is also a splendid place if you want to see some vintage cars! The collection features more than 23 authentic models as well as the original founder’s artifacts.
Daffodil Festival on Nantucket
If you want to see more flowers in bloom, we highly recommend you check out the popular Daffodil Festival. Typically held in April, this festival takes place on Nantucket and displays the newly bloomed daffodils of the area. In addition to the flowers, visitors can enjoy a variety of activities and entertainment. Grab a bite at one of the many food booths, peruse the local arts tent, listen to live music, and even meet the gardeners!
