Christmas time in Nantucket is a truly amazing season. Everyone is hustling and bustling about trying to find the perfect way to show their family how much they care about them. One way Nantucket likes to help its visitors and residents find the perfect gift for everyone is to keep their shops open a little longer, as well as have some amazing discounts and deals, and host the annual Nantucket Christmas Stroll. Everyone loves flocking to the island for the Nantucket Christmas Stroll for not only the perfect time to buy presents but also for the fun events during the weekend. While only the dates for this year’s Nantucket Christmas Stroll have been released, we at Chatham Gables Inn love attending this event every year and want to share with you some of the events in the past we have loved.
In the past, some of our favorite Nantucket Christmas Stroll events have been:
Stroll Scavenger Hunt– For $20 a team (6 or fewer people), arm yourself with you 20 Question Brochure, available at the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce Office and have fun answering all of the questions. Be sure to do them quick! They usually have to be turned in by noon that next Monday and your team be in the drawing for a fantastic prize.
Annual Festival of Trees– Head over to the Whaling Museum and be prepared to be in awe of the decorating skills of local artists, children, shops, and non-profit organizations.
Children’s Pirate & Ghost Ship Walk– Fun for the whole family! Listen to Pirate Robin, and her adorable parrot, as they regale you with legends, tales, and fun facts about old ghost ships. Meet her at The Nantucket Hotel and enjoy this fun and informative walk.
Raven’s History Walk: A Step Back in Time– Indulge your inner historian and learn all about Nantucket all those years ago. Some of the best stories are about early Quakerism as well as Nantucket after the American Revolution.
